Zoos are becoming facsimiles-perhaps caricatures, of how animals once were in their natural habitat. If the right policies toward nature were pursued, we would need no zoos at all.

Dereck and Beverly Joubert: Big Cats

Exotic animals are  by their nature not domestic "pets". Exotics pose a threat to local human and natural populations. The "keeping" of exotic species has disturbed the balance of natural environments - the future is uncertain. Please do not be indifferent. REPORT anyone who owns an exotic pet to the authorities. Licensure varies by US jurisdiction, being proactive about living next to an exotic animal ( reptile or insect ) this could save your life. Exotic animals belong in the wild, help keep them there!

Some Of My Brethren Are Domesticated

THE CHALLENGE OF LIVING WILD

"Horses are not considered a "exotic" species. Although we have been man's companion and work animal for generations, we would prefer to live wild. We are "good pets" to many families but we truly prefer to live, mate and run, free." -  by Horse's, Talk!

However, I am Not

LEARN WHY I DO NOT MAKE A "GOOD PET"

"Bears belong in the wild where they can live out their lives as Mother Nature intended. Agreed: everything must change, nothing remains the same however all animals are meant to be here. If you must keep a bear as a pet, display and show it to neighbors on social media why not purchase a Teddy Bear. Teddy Bears are good listeners, they won't cost you "pet rent", they live a long time and their value increases with age:)." - Bears, Do More Than Sleep
